Principal's Corner
Hello Olson Family and Friends!
My name is Christine Barone, I am the Principal at Olson Elementary. I’ve been a member of the Olson staff for many years; first as a classroom teacher, then as the Dean of Students, now as the Principal!
I’m excited for the opportunity to lead this wonderful school community. Olson is the newest school in MMSD, located on the far west side. We serve a diverse student body of approximately 450 children, grades 4K through 5th grade. Our staff is dedicated to engaging all students in culturally responsive learning that not only meets their academic needs, but prepares their evolving personalities through social-emotional skill building as they become members of the world community.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you as a member of the Olson Elementary School community. Whether your family is returning to Olson or brand new to our school, we look forward to getting to know your child and all of the members of your family. One of our primary goals this year as a school community is to lift up family voice. We invite you to connect with our school through events, conferences, volunteer opportunities, and so much more! The partnership between home and school is essential to student success.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue to be part of Olson’s community and serve as the school’s leader. I look forward to continued connections with families and welcoming students as they join our school. We are Olson, We are One - TOGETHER WE CAN!
Sincerely,
Christine Barone
