Welcome to the Student page. This year our focus is Placemaking. What is placemaking?
Community-inspired, creative, quick and easy enhancements that immediately connect people and place.
Madison's Mayor Paul Soglin recently had a neighorhood conference about this called Strong Leaders, Healthy Places.
Our challenge here at Olson is to create a climate so that all of our learners can thrive. See our page We Are Here on the library portal. We will be having discussions and dialogues with students to ask questions such as "What are myths?" "How do we belong here?" "What is our responsibility as a member of our community?"
Every year, our first graders participate in the Journey North Tulip test garden. Check back for photos from this project. We enjoy the flowers in spring!

“We shall never achieve harmony with the land, anymore than we shall achieve absolute justice or liberty for people. In these higher aspirations the important thing is not to achieve but to strive.” - Aldo Leopold, Round River: From the Journals of Aldo Leopold
